Speaking of hospitality, our restaurant was founded by Abelino Castro and Alfredo Garcia, two visionaries with a passion for authentic flavors and a warm and friendly atmosphere. Our journey began with a shared dream of bringing the vibrant tastes of Mexico to Chicago’s food scene.

With a combined experience spanning over 16 successful ventures in the restaurant industry, Abelino and Alfredo have honed their skills in every aspect of restaurant operations. Coming from Mexico, they brought with them a rich culinary heritage, infusing it into every dish served at Sol de Mexico.

In 2012, fueled by their entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to their craft, Abelino and Alfredo opened their first restaurant as partners. This set the stage for what would soon become a go-to dining destination in the Chicago area.

Fast-forward to today and the two restaurateurs are bringing the same energy and creative spirit to Fort Wayne. You can find us off Lima Road and Washington Center located in the space once occupied by Kayson’s 5th Down and adjacent to Cracker Barrel.

Our passion is matched by our commitment to elevating Fort Wayne’s restaurant community. The renovation features acoustically modified rooms to ensure a serene dining atmosphere. We’re confident you’ll find our establishment to be both warm and sophisticated.

At Sol de Mexico, we take pride in offering a diverse menu that caters to every palate. While we stay true to the flavors of Mexico, we also embrace dietary preferences by providing an array of vegetarian and gluten-free options. Our upscale Mexican-themed environment sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you indulge in our signature margaritas at the full bar, savor one of our carefully crafted dishes, or enjoy the lively ambiance with friends and family, you’re in for a great time.

We aim to create a dining experience that’s refined without being pretentious. With that in mind, we invite you to take advantage of our wide selection of margaritas, bourbons, tequilas, and various beers. In other words: There's something for everyone to enjoy!

And for those who wish to experience our flavors at their convenience, we offer to-go options, catering services, and delivery through platforms like Waiter on the Way, DoorDash, and Uber Eats.

Whether personal or business, we invite guests to make use of our private room that can accommodate up to 40 people. Our back patio is perfect for summer gatherings and celebrations. With multiple screens showcasing sporting events on evenings and weekends, our bar area provides the perfect backdrop to unwind and enjoy the company of friends while cheering for your favorite team.
